PERRIN designed their turbo inlet hose with a main goal in mind; to add performance and horsepower.
A major built in flaw from Subaru is the small turbo inlet tube. Made from weak thin walled plastic and corrugated to boot, it is a recipe to fail! A recent inspection of Perrin's 2002 WRX Project car revealed two failures. One leak at the Blow Off Valve crossover and another at the turbo itself. This caused vacuum leaks and driveability was terrible. 45 minutes of labor later, idle was smooth, no leaks, no backfiring and BETTER performance! The superior construction of the PERRIN inlet has solved the problem!
The PERRIN inlet hose is able to make more horsepower, smooth throttle response and improve acceleration! By removing the pleats found in the OEM hose, increasing the internal diameter and combining a mirror smooth silicone finish reduces intake restriction. PERRIN has an advantage over other brands, their inlet hose is the only one on the market today that does NOT require the removal of the intake manifold! That is HUGE. Think about it, no fuel to drain, no water lines to remove, no gaskets to purchase, less nuts and bolts. A huge advantage if you do it yourself or pay a technician. Instead of paying for 4-6 hours labor and parts, you should only have to pay for 1-1.5 hours and no extra parts.
The 3" turbo inlet will NOT fit the factory turbo.
May require intake manifold removal for installation.
